Vision Insurance
Introduction
Our vision is the most important sense that we have. It is through that we can be alert when we fall, when we take those all important selfies, when we travel and be part of the world. Having vision insurance would allow you to see an optometrist, get a full eye checkup and allow you to pay minalistically for glasses or contact lenses. Having vision insurance will allow you to get Lasik at a discounted rate.
How Vision Insurance Works
Using an Individual Vision Plan is easy. Visit an eye doctor, (going in-network will help you get the most from your benefits) to receive a comprehensive eye exam. If corrective vision is needed, your eye doctor can help pick glasses or contacts to best fit your style. You pay your copay at the doctor’s office along with any options outside of your plan coverage, and the doctor will take care of processing your benefit claims
By paying an affordable premium monthly, you can use your vision insurance at most eye vision centers (like LensCrafters, etc). Most vision insurance give you a no-cost or low amount for complete eye testing (most are once a year), and will allow you then to purchase glasses, contact lens, or even prescription sunglasses. Some vision insurance policy will allow you to buy glasses for free up to a certain amount and others will give you a good discount.
